Mid-Western University (MU) was established by the Government of Nepal with a Parliament Act in 17 June 2010 A.D. (Asar 3, 2067 B.S.) with the initiative of people of Karnali province. The university is now running in it’s 11th year of establishment. In order to contribute toward the Government of Nepal’s national aim ‘Happy Nepali, Prosperous Nepal’, the university is moving forward with the aim of linking education to skills, development and prosperity. The ultimate aim of the university is to prepare local, nation and international level competitive and 21st century suitable manpower through teaching, learning and cutting edge research.

The highest aspiration of the University is to provide quality higher education in a way that promotes the holistic development of the students’ abilities and personality, enhances the knowledge of the youth in a spirit of understanding, universally shared principles and dedication for best serving the common good.

Admission for academic year 2077/78 is now open at all the campuses, schools and college as mentioned detailed in the below section and interested students are informed to fill-up the form within the deadline period. Entrance exam form can be filled online and offline mode.

CAMPUS and Program INFORMATION

Currently, the university have six faculties namely, Faculty of Science and Technology, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Management, Faculty of Education, Faculty of Humanities and Social Science, Faculty of Law. The university also declared and passed two new faculties, Faculty of Agriculture and Forestry and Faculty of Health Sciences by executive council and 10th senate of the university. Soon the academic activities within these two faculty like new admission, teaching, learning will be started and the university is preparing for the same. Apart from this, several other subjects like Yoga, Sports, and etc are planned to launch soon.

Throughout the nation, there are total of nineteen institutions under the Mid-Western University which includes five central campus, ten constituent campus, two school, one MICD program and one affiliated college. All the campus, schools and college have several bachelor and master level programs and MICD runs one masters program.
