
Mid-West University (MU), Karnali province, Nepal, and University of the Basque Country (UPV/EHU) , Spain established a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on 07 July, 2021 to foster educational collaboration and cultural exchange. The Vice-Chancellor of Mid-West University Prof. Dr. Nanda Bahadur Singh and Rector of University of the Basque Country Mrs. M. Eva Ferreira García signed the MOU.
The principal aim of the MOU is to exchange experience and scientific knowledge between the faculties, staff and students of both universities in order to enhance their capacity and ultimately serve the society. Both the institutions wish to strengthen the cultural, scientific and academic bonds between the two countries and the objective is to establish a reciprocal exchange programme for students and faculty with a view to the academic and cultural enrichment of both the universities.
The International Relation Directorate of the Mid-West University and the Vice-Rectorate for International Relations of the UPV/EHU will act as contact persons and will be responsible for the operation of this exchange programme. The MOU contains five clauses including Common Provisions, Undergraduate Students, Postgraduate Students and Faculty, Effective Date and Term of the Agreement, Assignment and annexes.
As per the MOU, this agreement will take effect as of the last signature and will start the 2022/2023 academic year. It will be valid for a period of 4 years and will be tacitly renewed for further identical periods. It is believed that after the implementation of this agreement, both the faculty and students of the Mid-West University and University of the Basque Country will be directly benefited, and the culture of both nations will be shared for good relationship.
